An evening in Abbotsbury, England

A peaceful English village by the sea.

We start off with a stroll along the coast heading northwest via the South Dorset Ridgeway trail and this stunning view….

An important place to ancient people since over 2000 BC, there are hundreds of artifacts and ruins hiding about from Neolithic to more recent communities. But these are probably the only beings you’ll encounter along the way…

After a long hike through fields and forest, turn off trail in West Bexington (a neighboring small village) and head to The Manor Hotel. Pass by the quirky interior…

Head downstairs to the pub and reward yourself with a good pint of crisp English cider, fish & chips, and a beautiful sunset…

If you don’t spend the night, continue towards the shore and take the footpath back south to Abbotsbury along the Jurassic Coast. Just be sure to avoid the puddles…

After a good night’s rest, awake at to see St. Catherine’s Chapel looming high against the sunrise, and say hello to some more of the locals…

There isn’t a lot going on here, but that’s just the way the kind people of Abbotsbury prefer it.
